Easter

Charlie enjoys a nice warm fire as much as I do! When you get lots of rain for many, many, MANY, days in a row nothing quite takes away the chill like a warm, crackling fire, or makes you want to curl up and nap more at 6pm at night!

It’s Easter week!
Doesn’t feel like a holiday this year? I did make some tasty, sugary hot cross buns in honor of it being Easter week and because I miss Ireland something awful lately. They were outstanding right out of the oven and dripping with homemade icing... it’s a weird thing being away from family during a holiday, even a small one you would normally really only eat dinner together and move on from. Just the thought makes them all bittersweet.

I do love the feel of the Easter season in that everything is made new. Everything! Not only our souls in Jesus dying and saving us but the trees, baby animals, weather, life in general! It just feels like a new season, one of hope and excitement for what’s coming! Bare feet, green grass, BBQ’s, camping, hiking and all things outdoors. Not to mention our wedding! What a time to start a life with the man who loves me day in and day out. Rough days always give way to new mornings and I love him more with each passing one...

Here’s to new life. May we barrel through the hard, frustrating, painful times of life altering situations, believing that new beginnings are “only” a season away.
